The 44
th
National Unimed Convention, held in Rio Janeiro on October 14 to 17, 2014,
had its greenhouse effect gases emissions (GEE) neutralized by planting trees of the
brushwood biome, in partnership with a forestation cooperative in the Northeast of
Brazil, Cooperflorest. Altogether, 133.39 tons of CO
2
e (equivalent carbonic gas) were
emitted, which resulted in the planting of 833 seedlings in an area of 0.76 hectare
in partnership with a forestation cooperative. The action is being monitored by the
Unimed do Brasil Sustainability area.
