Project Sinal
With the purpose of reducing the number onsite meetings and events and of generating savings at various fronts, Unimed do Brasil started
in 2009 the Unimed System videoconference project, named Sinal – National Integration System. The solution allows communication be-
tween a cooperative and another, anywhere in Brazil. As from its implementation, the cooperatives may begin to participate in meetings or
promote courses via videoconference. Among the project benefits, there are: cost reductions with trips, accommodation, meals and other
related expenses; saving of time by the involved persons; communication, which continues being face-to-face; cooperative work facilitation;
meetings time management; carbon emission reduction and the consequent environment benefit; and possibility of recording the meetings
and disclose them later.
“The project was a challenge
in function of the whole
diversity presented by
the Unimed System. We
succeeded to have Singular
Units and Federations
believe in it, as it associated
the innovation issue with the
cost reduction need. It was
already born with success
possibility and along time
it consolidated itself. The
award crowns a whole work
which has been done since it
was implemented”.
