Sustainability in the Unimed System

Unimed cooperatives are independent and enjoy management autonomy. For this reason, all tools – campaigns and programs of-

fered for sustainability insertion in the Unimed business and which aim at a cooperativist integration may be freely adhered to by

the cooperatives and auxiliary societies composing the System. However, Unimed do Brasil promotes various initiatives with the

purpose of aligning sustainability management in the System seeking to uniformizing and guiding the institutions efforts, always

looking for the economic, social and environmental balance.

Sustainable Development

“It is the development attempting

to fulfill the current generation

needs, without compromising the

future generations capability to

fulfill their own needs. It means

to allow people, now and in the

future, to reach a satisfactory level

of social, economic and human

and cultural accomplishment,

and at the same time making

a reasonable use of the Earth

resources and conserving natural

species and habitats.”
