Unimed System Sustainability Report

Unimed do Brasil shall make available programs and campaigns focused on inserting

sustainability in the Unimed cooperatives strategic management. Among these tools, we

can highlight the Unimed Sustainability Seal, acknowledging cooperatives and own hos-

pitals which adopt sustainability management practices. Since 2014, the Sustainability

Seal certification, both for Unimed Operators and Hospitals, began to happen at every two

years, allowing a better planning and implementation of actions to promote the coopera-

tives sustainability. Then, the edition will happen in 2016.

Unimed Sustainability Seal

(for cooperatives and auxiliary companies)

The Unimed Sustainability Seal has been acknowledging, since 2003, cooperatives and

auxiliary companies adopting responsible social-environmental practices seeking sus-

tainable development. In 2014, 129 out of the 220 Unimeds participating in the certifica-

tion process fulfilled the requirements for the gold and diamond stages – the two stages

which sustainability insertion scenarios are more advanced, a 7.52% increase in relation

to 2013. In the same year, Unimed do Brasil made available the Sustainability Seal new

indicators for pilot fulfillment, which will be eventually applied for the first time in 2016.

Finally, with the purpose of integrating the Governance and Sustainability subjects, the

Sustainability and Governance Seals certification processes will be unified.
