Sustainability Advisory Group (International Cooperative Alliance)
Unimed do Brasil, represented by Edevard de Araujo, MD – Chief Marketing and Development Officer,
is participating in the
Sustainability Advisory Group
coordinated by ACI – International Cooperative Al-
liance. The group is composed by cooperatives from diverse segments and countries, invited due to their
relevance in sustainability management and representativity assurance of cooperatives existing all over
the Planet. Its objective is to act as a consultative group for the ACI, proposing a sustainability agenda for
the cooperatives, as well as indicators and tools demonstrating the institutions impact for sustainable
development, considering cooperativist values and principles, defending cooperativism as a sustainable
business model before the United Nations Organization – UNO.

National Sustainability Meeting 2014
Aware of the growing importance of sustainability topics in various sectors,
Unimed do Brasil held the 11th edition of its Sustainability Gathering on
July 31 at Novotel Center Norte, in São Paulo. The event aimed at stimulating
continuous debate and alignment to market trends for a more sustainable
management of the Unimed Systemcooperatives. In 2014, 99 Unimeds rep-
resentative from the entire System participated in the discussions, reaching
a 93.2% average satisfaction index regarding invited speakers.
Participation at the VII Healthy Hospitals Seminar
Unimed do Brasil, through is Sustainability team, participated as a speaker
at the VII Healthy Hospitals Seminar in 2014, about the topic Knowledge
and Innovation: Bases for an Environmentally Sustainable Health Assis-
tance. The event is a joint accomplishment by the Sanitary Surveillance
Center of the São Paulo State Health Department, Sociedade Paulista para
o Desenvolvimento da Medicina, Hospital Sírio-Libanês, Saúde sem Da-
no and Projeto Hospitais Saudáveis. Unimed do Brasil participated in the
opening and in two debate tables: One about Sustainability Reports at
Health Organizations, and another one about Sustainability Promotion in
the Health Chain.
